Privacy Policy

Recap (“we”, “us”, or “our”) operates the web application at recap.show. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it. We keep things simple: we collect only what we need to run the service, we don't sell your data, and we don't use tracking or advertising cookies.

1. Information we collect

Account information

When you sign up, we collect your email address, name, and profile photo via Google OAuth or email magic link. This is used to authenticate you and display your identity within the app.

Waitlist information

If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address and optional details about your business (business name, selling platform, product categories, and how you heard about us). This helps us understand who is interested in Recap and prioritize access.

Business data you upload

The core of Recap is analyzing your show data. You upload CSV exports from your selling platform, and you may enter inventory, expenses, and other revenue data. This data belongs to you. We process it solely to provide the service — we never sell it, share it with other users, or use it for advertising.

AI Advisor usage

If you use the AI Advisor feature, we log the number of messages and token counts per request to enforce monthly usage limits. We do not log the content of your conversations.

2. How we use your information

  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Recap service
  • To authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • To enforce plan limits (e.g. AI Advisor message caps)
  • To communicate with you about your account (e.g. trial expiration)

We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to providing the service.

3. Third-party services

We use a small number of third-party services to operate Recap:

  • Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage. Your data is stored in Supabase's infrastructure. Supabase Privacy Policy
  • OpenRouter — AI processing for the Advisor feature and CSV column mapping. When you use these features, relevant business data is sent to the AI model for processing. No personally identifiable information is sent. OpenRouter Privacy Policy

We do not use analytics services, advertising networks, or any other third-party tracking tools.

4. Cookies and local storage

We use cookies only for authentication:

  • Session cookies — managed by Supabase Auth to keep you signed in
  • Allowlist cookie — a short-lived (24-hour) httpOnly cookie that caches your access status

We also store your theme preference (dark/light) in your browser's local storage. We do not use any advertising, analytics, or third-party tracking cookies.

5. Data security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your data is stored in Supabase with row-level security, meaning each organization can only access its own data. We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Your rights

  • Export — you can export all of your data as a JSON file from Settings at any time
  • Deletion — to delete your account and all associated data, email dan@recap.show
  • Correction — you can update your business data directly in the app at any time

7. Data retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will delete all your data within 30 days. Uploaded CSV files are stored to enable re-processing and are deleted along with the rest of your data upon account deletion.

8. Children's privacy

Recap is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through the app. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
